PREMIERE of "Poem of Two Hearts" ballet

October 28 and 29 at the State Academic Bolshoi Theater named after Alisher Navoi will take place a premiere of the ballet "Poem of Two Hearts" by A.Melikov, Sh.Rashidov dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Sh.Rashidov. The second full-length ballet of composer, written by special order, was the "Poem of Two Hearts", which, as the "Legend of Love", is an eastern work of color. Melikov composed it in 1981 for the Bolshoi Theater of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi, and wrote a libretto on the basis of the poem "Book of Two Hearts" by Sharaf Rashidov. "Poem of two hearts" reveals the contents of an ancient Oriental legend about love of a dancer Komde and Modan, musician – eternal love that conquers death. Musical dramaturgy of the ballet is based on the alternation of contrasting symphonic developed air-episodes full of bright impressive images of deep psychological characteristics of the characters. The ballet was first staged in 1982 on the stage of the SABT named after A. Navoi. In the 83rd the troupe traveled with it to Moscow. Then it was shown on the stages of the Bolshoi Theater and the Kremlin Palace. Critics at the time, called this staging as choreographic masterpiece of the era.
