Bolshoi Theater: preparations for the 90th jubilee season are in full swing

On the eve on the Small Stage of the State Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater named after Alisher Navoi, a meeting of the opera troupe was held. Director of the SABT Makhmud Muratov spoke about some of the immediate plans.

The opening of the jubilee theatre season at the Bolshoi theatre of Uzbekistan is scheduled for September 24. A kind of Overture to the season will be Open Air "Stars congratulate Big" (September 20-21). This is the third concert in the framework of the Open project, the main goal of which is "to expand the musical audience, comprehending the beauty of musical art, able to listen and appreciate the live sound."
In the coming months, the opera company will have to carry out two large projects - the production of the opera “Kumush” by Mirsadyk Tajiev in the new edition by Mirkhalil Makhmudov, the updated libretto by U. Azimov and the opera “Faust” by Charles Gounod on the libretto by Jules Barbier and Michelle Carre (author of the Russian text is P. I. Kalashnikov). The opera “Kumush” is staged by the Honored Art Worker of Russia, director of the Mariinsky Theater Irkin Gabitov. The production of the opera by S. Gounod is entrusted to the Honored Worker of Culture of Uzbekistan, director Sergey Kaprielov.
It should be noted that the production of the opera “Kumush”, created by Mirsadyk Tajiev in 1988 based on the novel by A. Kadiri “Past Days” (I. Sultan's libretto), is intended to be the culmination of a number of events dedicated to the 125th birthday of Abdulla Kadiri, a famous writer, playwright and publicist, founder of the novel genre in Uzbek literature. 
One of the promising directions, according to the artistic director of the theater Eldar Azimov, is the concert activity of soloists of the opera troupe and the symphony orchestra on the Small Stage. Last season, three concerts were held with great success – the laureate of the “Nikhol” State Prize and international competitions Saida Mamadalieva (soprano), Nemat Khabibov (tenor), Ogulbanat Yusupova (cello). In the jubilee season, fans of the theater expect new interesting solo programs prepared by the artists of the theater. Also, a concert performance of one-act comic operas is planned on the Small Stage - the Italian "Bell" by G. Donizetti and the German "Director of the Theater" by V.A. Mozart.
