Please Welcome Leading soloist at National Theatre in Belgrade Nevena Bridgen on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre!

February, 9 the title role in “La bohème” by G. Puccini will be performed by an amazing soloist of the National Theater of Belgrade in  the  role of Mimi Nevena Bridgen

Nevena Bridgen, born in Belgrade. She holds  MMus from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Bridgen  studied piano from the age of eight. She studied singing at the University of Fine Arts in Belgrade with Ljudmila Gross and then continued her studies in London at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Sue McCulloch, Laura Sarti and Rudolf Piernay.

Bridgen has a comprehensive performance experience in a variety of musical and vocal styles: Italian song and aria, French melody, English and American song, German Lied, Russian song.

In 2014 Bridgen made her house debuted in the National Theater of Belgrade in the role of Susanna in Marriage of Figaro.Since 2015 she is a  resident soloist of the National Theater of Belgrade where she sung the roles of Sister Angelica in Puccini's opera Sister Angelica, Bastienne in Bastien and Bastienne ( adaptation for young audience and children) Tatyana in Eugenie Onegin, Lauretta in Gianni Schiccki, Zerlina in Don Giovanni ect. She debuted in the  role of Mimi in Puccini’s opera La Boheme with maestro Alberto Veronesi who specialize in Puccini’s repertoire.

Bridgen made her American debut in the summer 2015 in the National Opera Centre of America performing the role of the Countess in The Marriage of Figaro under the conductor Benoit Renard,directed by award winning director Louis Walker.

Her future performances include Micaela in Carmen, Desdemona in Otello, Manon in the opera Manon Lescaut ect.

As the Special Guest, Soloist, Bridgen performed at the official ceremony for the National Day of Serbia in Belgrade’s embassy in London in 2019, at the Vienna Ball in Belgrade as well as at the official ceremony of the 50th anniversary of the Belgrade Youth Center.

Bridgen sang at the official 4th of July 2014 ceremony in the residency of the U.S. Embassy where she performed American and Serbian national anthems.

Bridgen  has opened the ART diaspora 2014 with the solo recital “Notes of Love”, organized in collaboration with the Government’s office for Diaspora.

Alongside operatic roles Bridgen has performed widely in concerts and recitals in the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain and Serbia.Some of the concert includes: National Opera Center in NYC, Burgh House in London, Lauderdale House in London , Christ Church Spitafields in London , St Giles Church in London, Hayd Park Chapel in London , Proms at St Mary's church in Henley on Thames and many other venues.

She regularly appears in The UK and Balkan media such as The Times, Daily Mail, BBC TV and radio, Sky TV ect.

Bridgen has released the cross over single Adagio that was recorded in Air Edel studios in London with well renowned producer Rupert Cross.
