Today, passengers at Tashkent International Airport were in for a surprise: in the departure hall, Bolshoi Theatre artists staged an opera flash mob in honor of Navruz. It all started quite unexpectedly: the first sounds of an opera aria were heard among the hurrying passengers. Soloists from the Alisher Navoi State Academic Bolshoi Theater emerged from the crowd and sang like random passengers. New voices joined in one after another, and soon the entire terminal was filled with the sounds of opera.Airport guests listened spellbound to the heartfelt arias, which sounded amid the usual airport noise. For many, this was a real discovery: a rare opportunity to touch art just before take-off. Bolshoi Theatre artists Lenara Zakirova, Mukhammadali Zhoraev, Mukhammadyusuf Abdukodirov and Shokhida Nurmatova performed for passengers both masterpieces of Italian opera and several “folk” hits from the repertoire of Botir Zakirov. This unique concert became a symbol of the fact that music knows no boundaries, and culture unites people. It is important that art goes beyond traditional stages and becomes accessible to everyone - this is the spirit of the true holiday of Navruz.
