Summary
The first act
The first scene.
The market square in Baghdad. Shouts of merchants, minters, fortune-tellers - everything creates a lively atmosphere of the market day. But here comes a strange stranger. This Maghribian man is an evil wizard, he is looking for Aladdin, whom no one knows. Traders call for Maghribian man, offering him their goods. A band of boys is rushing out swiftly.
Sounds of fanfare herald that Princess Budur will be carried across the square to the bathhouse. The chief of the guard orders everyone to bend down to the ground. Who dares look at the princess - will be executed. Budur is appearing accompanied by a suite of girls. The procession stops near the disposed young man. Despite the prohibitions of the guards, the capricious princess demands that he look at her. The young man raises his head and freezes, amazed at her beauty. She asks how his name is, and invites him to the palace. Hearing the name - Aladdin, Maghribian man flinches. At last he found the one he was looking for.
The second scene.
Happy Aladdin comes home. He tells his mother about his love for Budur and the desire to marry her. There is a knock on the gate. Two strangers bring a chest to the yard. Behind them enters Maghribian man. He pretends to be the brother of Aladdin's father, to whom he brought a chest of jewels and grieved that he did not find him alive.
Maghribian man says goodbye to Aladdin’s mother and asks Aladdin to accompany him.
The third scene.
An evil magician – Maghribian man orders Aladdin to descend into a dark dungeon and bring him a magic lamp. The path to the lamp is blocked by fairies, snakes, spiders, skeletons. Aladdin overcomes all obstacles. As soon as he touched the lamp, a huge good Genie appeared before him, ready to fulfill all his desires.
Maghribian man is waiting for Aladdin to kill him and take the magic lamp. Genie saves Aladdin. A young man forgives an evil wizard and releases him on all four sides.
The second act
The forth scene.
The Sultan's Palace. Viziers and warriors entertain the Sultan. Aladdin enters. He asks for the hands of his daughter - Budur. The Sultan, indignant at the impudence of the young man, orders him to be thrown into Zindan. Boudur runs in, she heard Aladdin's voice, but the Sultan says that there was no one in the palace and she dreamed everything. The viziers confirm. Budur believes that it was a dream.
The fifth scene.
The courtyard of Aladdin's house. Mother yearns for Aladdin. How to help him? She remembers the chest of jewels. She opens it, but there are stones instead of jewels. What to do? Where to get money? She lifts a lamp from the ground to clean it and sell it. Hardly begins to rub, as the Genie appears. Mother falls in fright. Kind Genie asks what to do for her? She asks to release Aladdin.
The sixth scene.
Zindan. Aladdin is chained. He dreams of freedom and of Budur. Aladdin's desires are instantly fulfilled by Genie: the chains fall off his hands and he finds himself in Budur's palace. Budur believes that this is a dream. But then she realized - Aladdin was next to her. At the request of Budur, Aladdin with the help of a lamp arranges their wedding.
The seventh scene.
Sounds of fanfare. The guests are sitting on the carpets, behind the covered tablecloths. Among them are the Sultan, the Viziers, the mother of Aladdin. Budur and Aladdin follow him. The Sultan asks Budur, how did she come here? Budur explains that this is her wedding with Aladdin. The Sultan is indignant, but Budur asks him not to worry, for this is only a dream and the sultan dreams of a wedding. The reassured sultan asks him to pour his wine.
Fun in full swing, Aladdin throws a lamp and kisses Budur. The Magribian men come in. They ask for forgiveness. Aladdin forgives them and allows them to unite in one. Maghribian man sits down near the lamp, takes it in his hands and rubs it. The Genie appears. Maghribianm man orders to throw the Sultan in the dungeon, Aladdin must die of thirst in the desert, and Budur become his wife.
The third act
The eighth scene.
Desert. Aladdin lies on the sand dying of thirst. A mirage appears before him. The Genie appears, who, on the orders of the Maghribian man, must kill Aladdin. Kind Genie sorry for Aladdin, he gives him a jug of water. He does not want to kill and asks for something to come up with. Aladdin offers Jinn not to return to the lamp, but to live in a jag. He promises him complete freedom.
The ninth scene.
The wedding continues in the palace. Maghribian man sits on the spot of Aladdin. He asks Budur to have fun. All the same Aladdin was killed, and Baghdad will soon be burned. Budur is outraged by the villainous plans of Magribian man. Maghribian man asks Genie if he killed Aladdin. The Genie responds that now he serves Aladdin, who will give him freedom.
Aladdin enters. There is a duel between him and Maghribian man. An evil wizard falls down struck by Aladdin's blow.
Aladdin and Budur are happy, people glorify them. Kind Genie says goodbye to the audience and goes into a fairy tale forever.
